Youth Camp: We have enough girls and boys to fill the youth camp for this summer. We will be looking for more youths to send next summer. Thanks to the youth who signed up this year.

Game Department Report:This rerun may not make it on time; however, Bob Perleberg says Special Permit Deadline is mid-night June 10th even though it is a Sunday. To apply, (a) purchase a special application by phone or at a license dealer, (b) select hunt numbers, (c) call the toll free number and tell them what you want. Be sure to read the pamphlet and do not mail them to the Olympia office. You must give your social security number. Tom McCall informed the group of an upcoming big horn sheep count on the north shore of Lake Chelan on June 9th and 10th. For more information contact Tom at 663-3391.

Work Parties: Neil Fulwiler is looking for several volunteers to do another spring improvement. It is located on the hill just above Pete's Colockum headquarters. This project will require an 800 yard climb up to the spring. All materials for the upper project will be flown to the site. Neil has tentatively set June 2nd as the work date. Meet at the Colockum headquarters at 8:00am. Bring along a shovel, pry bar, post hole diggers, gloves, lunch, water and related fencing tools. Contact Neil at 663-9076 or Pete at 663-6260. Pete Lpoushinsky still has a couple of projects go do in the north and south forks of the Tarpiscan. They involve converting shed roof feeders to turkey friendly feeders. Give Pete a call at 663-6260 or Bill Stegeman at 663-7529 if your are interested in helping.

Internet:Ron Bruno continues to update our web page. He is always seeking new things to add to it. To get online type in www.ncwoutdoors.com

Appologies:In our March newsletter thanking doners to our game feed, Wenatchee Cars.com was missed. We apologize for that. They co-sponsored a 22 rifle.

Last Month's Program:Brigitte Ranne, wildlife biologist and botanist for the Entiat Ranger District, showed us how noxious weeds affect wildlife habitat and how to identify noxious weed species. It is important for us to let agencies and governmental officials know that weed awareness and control needs more attention and funding. For more general information on weeds, call the Chelan County Weed Board 664-5550. For more info on weeds see www.wa.gov/agr/weedboard

Program:Claudia Narisco of the Entiat Ranger District will explain the reasons for closing and/or wanting to close some district roads in the Entiat Valley. Your presence and comments may influence them to keep some projected road closures open.
