With regret, the club accepted the resignation of Randy Hein as treasurer, as
Randy has made an occupational change. He is receiving training to become an
enforcement agent for the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. We wish him well on his
new adventure. Ron Bruno has been elected as the new treasurer. Thanks much
Randy for your time and service.
New Signs: While driving around looking for camp sites, hunting
or pleasure driving, you will be seeing some new plastic signs posted in
campsites. The club voted to purchase 100 signs that states "A Sportsman
Leaves A Clean Camp", Wenatchee Sportsman Association. Our objective is to
get hunters to leave a clean camp. We also voted to purchase calendars to give
to a business that donates items to our game feed. It's another way of saying
thank you.
Game Feed: As we head into our new meeting year, we also head
into preparations for the upcoming game feed. Each year we set a goal of
bettering last years game feed ---- which we have done. Again with your help,
ideas, and donations, we will have a better game feed. So start thinking of
ways to earn more money this year as the game feed is only 4 months away.
Lifetime Memberships:The cost of the lifetime membership is
$250.00. That does not include a free meal at the game feed.
Department Report: Tom McCall could use several volunteers to
help release pheasants in Swakane and Chelan Butte areas. Tom will also need
lots of volunteers with pickups to fill both upland game and turkey feeders on
the Chelan Butte, Swakane, Entiat, Wheeler Hill and Stemilt areas. He plans to
do the Swakane, Chelan Butte, Entiat areas Nov. 7th . Meet at the department
office at 8:00am with a lunch, personal gear and 5 gallon plastic buckets.
Contact Tom at 665-3399. Pete Lopushinsky will need volunteers to fill feeders
in the Tarpiscan and Colockum area usually about the 1st of December. Pete could
also use volunteers to remove some A-Frame feeders in the Tarpiscan and the
lower Colockum area. He also has a deer fence around the Colockum headquarters
he would like removed. Contact Pete at 663-6260. Tom McCall is looking for
volunteers to help him locate and recover inactive turkey transmitters. A
tracking radio will be used. Contact Tom at 665-3391. Bob Perleberg reports
anyone born after Jan. 1, 1972 who has lost and / or can't find their previous
hunting or fishing license should start the relicensing process right away, as
it may take several days to complete the process. On page 26 of the hunter
pamphlet the following units in Chelan County will be closed to youth and
disabled hunters. The units are: 243 Manson, 244 Clark, 245 Chiwawa, 246 Slide
Ridge and 247 Entiat. Chinook salmon fishing in the upper Columbia runs through

trophies from later hunts.
