Game Meat Contacts |
January Meeting:January 14, 2002 at 7:30 PM at the Eagles Lodge
on 9th St.
Oyster Feed:There will be an "all you can eat" oyster
feed at the Dryden Gun Club January 11. Contact Ron Jagla at 662-5929 for
tickets. Money raised will go back into youth activities.
Game Meat:As of the middle of December, Irv's freezers are about
as bare as Old Mother Hubbards cupboards. Thus Irv and Ron are looking for any
wild game meat - mainly elk. Give Ron a call at 884-9369 or Irv at 884-3071.
Game Feed: Reminder, the game feed is Feb. 11, 2002. Doors open
at 5:00pm. Tickets are on sale at One Shot (across from the Federal Building),
Valley Feed and Rocky's House of Guns. Ron Bruno and Gordon Goodwin (663-3620)
will be selling tickets also or check out the internet site www.ncwoutdoors.com
Just print the coupon, fill it out and mail it with a check to Ron Bruno.
Ticket prices are: adult - $35.00, youth - $25.00 and a lifetime member -
$20.00. Be sure to show your lifetime membership when buying the ticket.
Games & Raffles:Along with our large general raffle we will
be offering dice, dart and card games, hat raffle, silent auctions and juvenile
and life time membership raffles.
PA System:We will have a private professional P.A. system. Bill
Miller will be setting up 4 or 5 speakers, a hand mike and two lapel mikes.
Bill provides an outstanding P.A. system.
Help Needed:Again - We will need a lot of folks around 4:30pm to
help man the games. We would like to have folks sign up at the January meeting
who will start the games and some folks who will relieve them. There will be a
need for people to sell beer, help at the door to sell tickets and many other
little jobs prior to dinner. Contact Mike Sprague at 782-5029 or Matt Gutzwiler
at 663-1526 if you have any questions.
Alcohol:This year, like last year, we will be selling beer and
wine by purchasing tickets. The decision to do this way was the strong
recommendations of the Liquor Control Board. Tickets must be purchased and then
exchanged for beer or wine.
Prizes:While prizes have not been assigned to raffles or games,
the following is a list of items we have on hand with more items coming in:
wall tent; Knight 50 cal. Muzzleloader with starter kit and tape; deer carrier;
snowshoes; Ruger 44 Cal. Super Red Hawk stainless revolver with scope mounts;
Remington 870, 12 gauge shotgun with vent rib; Savage model 110 30-06 w/scope,

Lifetime Membership Raffle:If there are 5 or more sign up as
lifetime members there will be a raffle item available to them.

on February 7. Cleaning will start at 6:00pm at 1725 N. Aurora (turn right on
18th just before 19th St. light on Sunset Highway). Call 884-3071.

wildlife? If so contact Larry Wadkins at 663-5870 or Ron Fox at 665-3383 and
share your ideas. Written proposals must be hand delivered or mailed to Ron Fox
by the end of February. Ron also has applications guidelines.
Department Reports:Bob Perleberg reminds us of the mandatory
reporting of non harvested or harvested bear, deer, elk and turkey. Page 7 of
your hunter pamphlet shares information on how to do it by phone or internet.
Tom McCall reports we may be getting turkey's to release any time after January
1 and throughout February or until we receive our allotted 200 birds. If
interested in helping call Tom at 665-3391, Bob Perleberg at 662-0542, Ernie
McCart at 884-4485 or Bill Stegeman at 663-7529.
Thank You:To those who shared their trophies with us at the

rack.
Important Meeting:Senator Linda Evans Parlette has invited Robert
Lohn, who was recently appointed director of the NW Regional office of the
National Marine Fisheries Services, to a January 4th meeting in Brewster. Time
is 12:30 to 2:00pm. It will be held in the Columbia Cove Community Center. The
main issue is how the Endangered Species Act is impacting the local area. For
