Donated Game Meat Contacts |
General Meeting:October 11th, 2004 ,at Eagles Lodge - 7:30 pm
Meat Coolers:As we move into the cooler weather it stimulates our
hunting desires to locate and bag big game animals. We again put out the
request for donated wild game meat. Contact Ron Bruno at 884-9369 or 679-9076.
We also have coolers available at Ron's and at Neal Fulwiler's (663-9076) The
cooler at Keith Boyd's has been out of commission so call him at 782-2512
(evenings) to see if it is available.
Meat Cutters:Ron Bruno is compiling a list of individuals he can
call at a moments notice to handle donated game meat when he is unavailable. If
you are interested in helping out contact Ron at 884-9369.
Freighted Game Meat: The club will pay the cost to have wild game
meat freighted in on two conditions. 1) prior arrangements have been made to
see if the meat is needed; and 2) we will pay the freight only on the needed
amount of meat. If you have any questions call Ron Bruno 884-9369 or Matt
Gutzwiler at 663-1526.
Department Report:Bob Perleberg reports there will be pheasant
releases in Oct. and Nov. The 2003 Game Harvest Report is available on line -
www.wa.gov/wdfw This site gets you into the website and click down to
"Your Needs". A hard copy is available for $3.00 or you can get a
"Big Game Summary" edition free at any Dept. Office. Bob has lots of
reading material in the office and invites anyone to come and look it over.
Fire Safety:While the fire dangers have sub-sided a whole bunch,
always be careful with fires. Also, get permission to hunt on private
property and respect the property while you are on it.
Work Party:As of this writing, there hasn't been any work party
dates set. We usually start in mid October filling feeders and continue through
November. Contact Pete at 663-6260 or Tom McCall at 665-3391 for dates, time
and locations. Pete may be doing the fertilizer project in the reserve again.
Come to the October meeting for more information.
Gate Closure:The locked gate on the Tarpiscan Road is still
locked and will probably remain locked throughout this hunting season. Efforts
have been made to resolve the locked gate issue but to no avail.
Commission Meeting:There is a workshop November 5 & 6 in
Wenatchee looking at the 2005-06 sport fishing rule proposals and December 3
& 4 in southwest Washington.
Game Feed:February 14, 2005 is the date for the game feed and
Matt needs some people to step forward to help chair different parts of the
evening. Your help is needed and very much appreciated.
Program Thank You:Many thanks to Tom and Beau for the hunting
prospects for the current seasons.
October Program:This program will feature Joe Kelly, who will
share a slide or two on his archery hunting trip in Africa.
November Program:This program will feature Jeff Bernatowicz who
is the Yakima / Colockum elk herd biologist. They are proposing to restrict access
to winter ranges during winter months to protect these herdsr>
