General Meeting:  June 19, 2007  - 7:00pm                         Steel Workers Hall – 180 Rock Island Rd.- East Wenatchee

 

NEW MEETING PLACE:  The new meeting site is the Steel Workers Hall (note the name change) located at 180 Rock Island Rd in East Wenatchee.  It is located approximately 200 yards south of Grant Road.  A reminder, the General Meeting is the 3rd Tuesday and Executive Board the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

 

JUNE PROGRAM:  It was felt that a great deal of effort goes into finding programs for our meetings and since this is the last meeting before summer and seems like an excellent program it is taking top billing.  Many thanks to the membership for helping get quality programs that we have and especially this one.

   The program will be on “Eyes In The Woods”.  This will be a 1 ½ hour long program training us on how to better

   collect evidence on law violating situations.  A strong reminder is that a detective it does not make us --- just

   evidence collectors, should the case go to court.  This meeting is free and will be opened to the public.  So bring

   your wife, companion, neighbor and friends to the training.  This meeting date and time is going to be listed in the

   new hunting pamphlet that is coming out and it is our hope that it will generate more interest as well.

 

Department Report:  You are reminded to submit any special hunting permits by June 28th.  If you have any questions or concerns about hunting or fishing issues do call Amy and she’ll answer or find answers to your questions or concerns.

   Spring Chinook fishing runs through July 31st on the Icicle River.

 

A Hearty Thank You:  Jim and Nancy Hope wish to thank the crew who helped assemble fishing poles for the Leavenworth Kids Fishing Day.  It took several hours and they sincerely appreciate all the help.

 

Important Meeting Coming Up:  We just received the following information and it is likely dated material.  There will be a Big Game Management Roundtable (BGMR) meeting in Ellensburg June 14th.  Meeting will be held at Ellensburg High School in the Little Theater starting at 7:00pm.  The meeting will concern  winter range closure and restricted use in the Colockum and Whiskey Dick Wildlife areas.  Some discussed options are complete closure (no trespassing period), or closure during the months of critical winter-feeding.  Contact Pete Lopushinsky  at 663-6260 or Bill Stegeman at 663-7529 or cell 393-9528 for more information.  Your attendance and input is very important.
