General Meeting: December 15, 2009 Steel
Workers Hall – 180 Rock Island Road – East Wenatchee
Game Feed Date Change: The 2010 game feed will be
Saturday, February 20th at Apple Annie’s in Cashmere.
Game Meat: Ron Bruno reports he has enough of a variety
of wild game meat and also enough deer and elk; however, he could use bear or
one other meat. If you plan to donate,
Ron needs at least 60 lbs. to make a dish.
For info contact Ron at 884-9369 Cell: 679-2359 before February 1st.
Game Feed Tickets: Game feed tickets will be available at the
December meeting. Adult membership is $20.00, game feed ticket will be $20.00. Youth membership will be $15.00 and the game
feed ticket $15.00. Youth is considered
to be age 17 and under. Adult lifers
must pay the $20.00 and youth lifers must pay $15.00 respectively for the 2010
game feed. A great thought: game feed tickets would make a great
Christmas gift.
Game Feed Tickets
Non-transferable: Due to a host of problems
generated during the game feed, any ticket purchased by an individual, can only
be used by that individual and cannot be given to anyone else, unless the receiver of the ticket is
willing to purchase a membership to the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association in
order to use that ticket.
Lifetime Memberships: Reminder: As approved in December of 2006 the lifetime
membership is $500.00, which does include a jacket.
New Gambling Law: According to the Gambling Commission Laws,
any ticket that has been altered such as bent, folded, or otherwise mutilated
in any way can not be accepted if drawn and must be thrown out. Again, this is just an extension of what
we have been doing the past couple of years.
Passing
Of A Guard: One of our
long, long time members, Carl Fugitt, passed away in late October. He was very active in our club for over 50
years. Our thoughts go out to his wife
and family. We will miss your solid
inputs Carl.
Changing Of The Guard: When the time comes that the fire under the
boiler doesn’t want to produce the same amount of heat as it did in the past,
it is time to step aside and let someone else do the job with a lot more gusto. I have enjoyed being your secretary for the
past ten to twelve years and will be staying active in the club. Thanks again to all who have given help and
support. Some of the responsibilities I
did were: picked up and delivered the
club mail, purchased goodies each month for the meetings and located program
speakers for each month. Feel free to
call me if you are interested, Bill Stegeman (663-7529 or cell 393-9528).
Hour & Miles Donated: Ron Poppe say’s, “keep those hours and miles
coming to him”. They keep adding
up. His phone is 662-3957.
Help
Needed: Matt Gutzwiler is looking for volunteers to
help do the turkey count later this winter.
If interested contact Matt at 663-1526.
Department
Report: Remember to report your fall mandatory
harvest / non-harvest of bear, deer, elk and turkey. You may do so by phone at 1-877-945-3492 or
go to the internet site: www.fishhuntdfw.wa.gov A penalty will be
applied to your next attempt to get a hunting license if you fail to
report. Due date is January 31st,
2010.
There is an opening on the game management
advisory council. Application due date
is 5:00pm December 15th. You
can call Bill at 663-7529 for more info or contact Lori at the Department
Office and ask for the new release on the position.
December Program: Rollie Schmitten, the newly elected WDFW
Commissioner, will be our featured speaker.
As mentioned last month, our “Little Big Horn” show has been put on the
back burner due to lack of interest.
However, you are welcome to bring in your
trophy to share at any meeting.
January
Program: All time will be allotted to the game feed.
Another
Position To Open In The Club: Ike Cummings is stepping down from his job
doing the newsletter in June. He feels
if someone is interested it would be helpful to meet with him starting in April
to see what is involved and could work with him to get the last couple
newsletters out. He does have all the
information on computer discs to help in the transition. The following are some of the things he does:
supplies all the labels for mailing the newsletter, types the newsletter after
receiving it from the secretary, gets it to and from the printer, labels and organizes
by zip codes for bulk mailing and gets it to the post office, updates the
roster for the mailings following the game feed each year. You can contact Ike at 886-0894 for more
information.
