Freighted Meat: On a prearranged approval, the Sportsman’s Association will pay the freight on up to 60 lbs. of exotic or other wild game meat from an individual. This is being done on game meat flown in from a distant place.
Early Call For Game Meat: Ron Bruno, as always, is looking for wild game meat. There are coolers at Neil Fulwiler’s
(663-9076) and Ron Bruno (884-9369) as well as a freezer at George Komro’s and
the meat needs to be skinned, clean,
wrapped and marked as to the species and type of cuts. Georges home is located at 1570 Tedford
(884-5359). Ron has also made
arrangements with Fred Perry of Eastmont Custom Meats to receive donated and /
or emergency wild game that is locker ready ( skinned and clean). You can contact Fred at 884-3777.
Meat Cutter / Meat
Receivers: Ron Bruno
can use some meat cutters who will help cut and wrap meat. Also, people he can call on at a moments
notice to pick up and care for unexpected donated game meat. Get in touch with Ron if you can help
(884-9369).
Game Feed Meeting: The next game feed committee meeting will be October 15th. Contact Gene Robards at 662-6277. Additional volunteers are welcome.
97A Fencing: The project is progressing well, with
completion scheduled in October. As of
mid September deer crossings were being installed on individual driveways. Phase 2 fencing bids will go out in mid
November with construction to start next spring.
Youth Archery Report: Congratulations go to Colby Erb for placing
2nd in the State National Archery in Schools Program Tournament last
March, at age 12. He will be competing
in the NASP World Tournament in Orlando, Florida in October. In Washington he competed against 200
students who represented 15 schools.
Hours & Miles: Ron Poppe appreciates your volunteer miles
and hours that are turned in to him.
Keep turning in those hours and miles to Ron at 662-3957.
C.O.R.T. Class: The C.O.R.T. class offerings for Region II
are through until 2010. However, anyone
interested in getting Master Hunter hours needs to contact Ron Poppe at
662-3957. He has some work projects
coming up that will qualify.
October Program: Eric Braaten is our scheduled program. He is the Grand Coulee area land manager that includes Blue Grade
and Moses Coulee areas, Douglas County and east.
If
he isn’t available Dr. Kelly is our back up.
His program is about a hunt in Africa.
If interested call Bill Stegeman (663-7529) later in October to see
