Douglas, Grant and Kittitas counties.
Contact Bill Stegeman (663-7529 or cell
393-9527) or Ron Fox at 665-3383 for more information.
No February Meeting:
There will not be a February general membership meeting. We will see you at the game feed or the March
16th meeting.
Help Is Needed:
Local Department biologist Jon Gallie would like to
do a project in the West Central part of Douglas County. It involves placing reflective covered plastic
clips on barbwire fence lines. The
objective of the reflective clips is to prevent and / or reduce sage and sharptail grouse from hitting the barbwire. A.L.E.A Grant money could be used to purchase
material and W.S.A members have agreed to provide labor installing the
clips. What is needed is someone to fill
out the A.L.E.A grant application and round up and supervise the
installation. If we should be granted
the A.L.E.A. money it won’t be available until mid to late summer. There are other things to work out. If you are interested
contact Bill Stegeman at (663-7529 or cell 393-9527).
Harvest Report: Remember to report your fall mandatory
harvest / non-harvest of turkey, bear, elk and deer. You can do so by phone at 1-877-945-3492 or
go to the internet site: www.fishhuntdfw.wa.gov A penalty will be
applied to your next attempt to get a hunting license if you fail to
report. Due date is Janyary
31st, 2010.
December Program: We wish to thank Rollie
Schmitten as our December program. His information was very informative and our
thanks to Rollie.
It should also be mentioned that recently he was appointed as a
Commissioner to the WDFW.
January Program: The January
program will be devoted mainly to the upcoming game feed.
March
Program:
Eric Braaten, Grand Coulee area Wildlife Manger will
be our March 16th program.
His main topic will be the up and coming Blue Grade changes he would
like to see made.
Salmon
Derby:
Working with Dave Graybill, we have an opportunity to
host a salmon derby on the Columbia River (in the Wenatchee area) around July 4th,
give or take a few days. The details
need to be worked out if this is to happen.
We need to get started soon as many volunteers will be needed. Also, summer maintenance work will still be
going on. We would like to see those
interested in fishing grab this and run with it.
IF YOU CAN’T MAKE THE GAME
FEED REMEMBER TO GET YOUR 2010 MEMBERSHIP DUES PAID ASAP.
